The Purpose of Life is to Create Value
Welcome to Edition #03 of THE BLUEPRINT
As we move away from the technological realm of Artificial Intelligence and into the depths of self-improvement, I would like to start by making a bold statement:
Our purpose in life is to create value
Value looks like:
Saving or making someone time, energy, and/or money
Providing a fulfilling or satisfying product or service
Offering knowledge, education, and skill development
Being a loyal and trustworthy friend
The list goes on!
There are many ways to create value. Through a Christian view, bringing someone to relationship with Christ has a very high value, thus the importance of mission work within the church.
Society already rewards value heavily! Operations looks to promote sustainable efficiency, marketing to connect product with consumer, and sales…to sell. All in collaboration to produce value.
Outside of the most apparent jobs, a painter brings value through aesthetic enhancement and emotional impact, while a YouTuber may provide value through educational, inspirational, or entertaining content.
There is a firm distinction between value and money. Money can be a byproduct of value, though in most scenarios, value far exceeds the reaches of money. Relationships and connection require selfless input and executed and reciprocated successfully, you receive the many benefits of healthy relationships; value. Also, consider a lifetime of practicing healthy habits and regular exercise to maintain physical shape and ability. You receive the benefit of a statistically longer life, enhanced physical ability into old age, and numerous other highly valuable side effects.
If Creating Value is the purpose of my life, how do I get started?
Set your focus on creating value. Whatever you desire (cohesive family unit, abundance of money, freedom of time, social impact, etc.) lies on the other side of high value.
Think about your career path! And consider your spiritual, physical, emotional, relational, and mental paths as well.
For each aspect of your life, ask yourself:
If I continue the same trajectory, is the value I can create in the future limited or limitless?
That’s all for now…
